The generosity of our employees and Donaldson Company’s commitment to making a difference in our communities are qualities of which we are very proud. Many of our community initiatives support multicultural programs and organizations that strengthen the communities of which we are a part.
The following is a sampling of the programs actively supported by Donaldson and coordinated by our employees:
Bridging
Bridging provides families in transition with a bed to sleep on, a chair to sit on, and a dish to eat from, which turns their house into a home. Each year, Donaldson employees participate in their Bedrace for Bridging and also donate at least a truckload of household items to help replenish their shelves.
Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery
For the second year in a row, Donaldson employees are hosting a fundraiser for the Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery. Last year, employees donated over $5,000 of clothing and baby supplies to help the Nursery meet its critical needs.
INROADS
INROADS has helped businesses gain greater access to diverse talent through development and placement of outstanding ethnically diverse students. Donaldson participates each year in the INROADS internship program.
Junior Achievement
Donaldson is committed to providing the volunteers necessary to extend the opportunity for students to participate in Junior Achievement in grades K-12. We sponsor Oak Grove Elementary School in Bloomington (MN) and hold an annual bowl-a-thon fundraiser which raises nearly $20,000 in support of JA.
Memorial Blood Centers
Donaldson teams up with Memorial Blood Centers to sponsor blood drives on the Bloomington Campus. We hold at least five drives annually.
MS 150
Donaldson Company forms a team of over 100 riders who participate in the Noran Clinic MS-150 Bike Tour. This is an annual fundraiser for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and all proceeds go toward helping battle the crippling disease.
Pillsbury House
In combination with our annual MS150 fundraiser, Donaldson employees will gather used bicycles to donate to the Full Cycle Program at Pillsbury House. The program helps homeless teens.
Reuben Lindh Family Services
Reuben Lindh Family Services (RLFS) is based in the inner-city of Minneapolis. RLFS provides family services to traditionally underserved children, families and communities. Donaldson employees’ contributions include school supplies and holiday baskets.
Toys for Tots
Donaldson employees collect toys and gifts for children because "every child should be remembered during the holidays."
United Way
Annually, Donaldson holds a campaign to raise money for the United Way. In 2008, Donaldson employees and retirees raised over a half million dollars for the Greater Twin Cities United Way.
