DONALDSON OFFERS NEW MODEL OF ENGINE AIR CLEANER DESIGNED FOR SEVERE DUST CONDITIONS
MINNEAPOLIS, MN – October 15, 2007 – Donaldson Company (NYSE:DCI), a leading, worldwide manufacturer of filtration systems and parts, announced the availability of the Donaldson SSG Model Engine Air Cleaner family designed for mega machines that operate in heavy and severe dust conditions.
The Donaldson SSG Air Cleaner is available in two high-flow models – single and dual outlet – and is equipped with radial seal filters, which slip easily on and off the outlet tube during service and installation. The SSG Air Cleaners have molded urethane endcaps, a design upgrade from the Donaldson SRG Air Cleaner family that incorporates an axial seal design with metal endcaps. The SSG cleaner's inlet section includes a bank of Donaldson Donaclone® pre-cleaning tubes designed to separate up to 97% of the heaviest dust particles from the air stream. The pre-cleaned dust is automatically ejected from the dust cup through the vacuator valve.
The SSG Air Cleaner is available with standard cellulose media or Donaldson's Ultra-Web® nanofiber technology, designed to capture submicron contaminants on the surface rather than dispersing throughout the depth of the filter where there is less area for air to flow. Other features of the SSG Air Cleaner include:
- Inlet has perforated holes on three sides, and rain shrouds are available if required
- Latch-style cover with attached safety chain for faster and simpler filter service
- Constructed of heavy-gauge steel with a primed, ready-to-paint finish
- Same overall package size as older Donaldson SRG axial seal style air cleaner housings
- Primary filter incorporates a built-in service handle
