DONALDSON EXHAUST EMISSION SYSTEM USED IN MASSEY FERGUSON MF8690 TRACTOR DESIGN
MF8690 Awarded 2009 Tractor of the Year and the Golden Tractor Design Award
MINNEAPOLIS, MN – March 25, 2009 – Donaldson Company (NYSE:DCI), a leading, worldwide manufacturer of filtration systems and parts, is pleased to recognize Massey Ferguson for being awarded "Tractor of the Year" and the "Golden Tractor Design Award," for the MF8690 at the EIMA Show, International Agricultural Machinery Exhibition held in November 2008 in Bologna, Italy. The MF 8690 is equipped with a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) exhaust system manufactured by Donaldson.
According to a news release issued by Massey Ferguson, "At 370hp, the MF8690 is not only the world's most powerful conventional four-wheel drive tractor, it is also first equipped with the industry leading e3 Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) exhaust treatment, making it the cleanest emission tractor in its class as well as delivering unparalleled fuel economy."
Typical SCR exhaust systems are designed to remove 70 to 90 percent of NOx gases from the diesel engine. Donaldson engineers worked closely with Massey Ferguson to optimize performance and ensure durability of this emission system for demanding agricultural applications.
