FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FROM THE FIELD: DONALDSON PROVIDES IBFS FOR NEPAL HELICOPTER OPERATIONS

St. Louis, Mo., Feb. 15, 2010 – Popular high-performance Inlet Barrier Filters (IBFs) designed and built by Donaldson Aerospace & Defense, a division of Donaldson Company, Inc. (NYSE: DCI), are protecting helicopter engines during flight operations near the world’s tallest mountain. Nepal-based Air Dynasty Heli Services operates Eurocopter AS350 helicopters now equipped with Donaldson IBFs, flying in and around the Mount Everest region.

Air Dynasty conducts tourism, medical evacuation and other missions throughout the country, including the high elevations of the Himalayas. The company’s services are sought after since it is one of the few in Nepal operating the popular AS350. The larger AS350 cabin and seating arrangements allow viewing of the breathtaking Himalayan terrain. With these heavy loads, maximum engine performance is vital.

Landings may occur as high as 16,000 feet. Air Dynasty representatives report positive feedback from operation of the IBFs during the past 18 months. Their prior inlet protection consisted of the traditional FOD screen, potentially allowing significant amounts of debris into the engine with subsequent damage and potential power loss.

Two more aircraft from another Nepal operator have been equipped with the IBFs and more placements are anticipated. Donaldson IBF’s provide superior performance while maintaining maximum engine protection available in the market today.

From the thin mountain air of Mount Everest to Arizona’s desert heat, helicopter operators are choosing to upgrade their engine protection with Donaldson IBFs.

Providing the most comprehensive line of IBF solutions, Donaldson Aerospace & Defense is the industry leader in the design, development and manufacture of high-performance engine IBF systems for commercial and military propulsion systems. Through their St. Louis, Missouri location, Donaldson provides certified IBF solutions for the AgustaWestland AW119 Koala, AW119Ke and AW139, Bell 205A1, 206B, 407, 206L-3/4, 206L-1(C30), 429 and 430; Eurocopter EC130, AS350 B/BA/B1/B2/B3, AS350’s with Soloy or Heli-Lynx Honeywell engine conversions and MD Helicopters MD 369H Series, MD 500D/E/F and MD 900/902. IBF solutions for the AgustaWestland AW109 Power and Grand, Eurocopter EC135 as well as the Bell 206L are currently in development.
