DONALDSON HEATED REGENERATIVE DESICCANT DRYERS DELIVER CONSISTENT PERFORMANCE WHILE REDUCING OPERATIONS COSTS

designed to be the best valve in the industry

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – June 25, 2007 – When making an investment in heated regenerative desiccant compressed air dryers, industrial manufacturers look to Donaldson Company, Inc. (NYSE:DCI), a leading, worldwide provider of filtration solutions, for a trio of air dryers that are designed to provide the best value in the industry with reliable performance to CAGI ADF 200 specifications while consuming the lowest amount of energy possible.

Fully automatic, PLC controlled and self-contained using a fail-safe design, the Donaldson AEHD Series of heated desiccant compressed air dryer (150 – 3,000 scfm) delivers consistent performance by combining high moisture capacity, premium grade, high crush strength activated alumina in optimally sized ASME code desiccant towers. This design provides low velocity and high contact time through the adsorbent beds thereby delivering a long service life.

The Donaldson HRE Blower Purge and the HRS-L Zero Purge Series (600 – 10,000 sfm) heated desiccant compressed air dryers are designed to reduce purged air consumption to an average rate of two percent or less – resulting in an overall operation costs. Process air is only used during the depressurization and repressurization process and, in the case of the HRE, during cool-down of the regenerated bed. Additional benefits of the HRE and HRS-L air dryers include:

  • Built-in energy controls
  • Unique HRE parallel flow to reduce or eliminate dew point and temperature spikes
  • Small footprint saves valuable space
  • Low pressure drop design for energy savings
  • Corrosion resistant finish
  • Allen Bradley PLC control with panel view 300 display

All Donaldson heated desiccant compressed air dryers include automatic controls for fail safe operation. These features include:

  • Dryer operation indictors – shown in text display on enclosure door for ease of operation and troubleshooting
  • Dryer common alarm – viewed in text display and turn on visual common alarm lights
  • Switches and lights – mounted on the enclosure door for easy access

Prepiped filtration bypass packages and numerous other options are available to maximize heated dryer life and performance.

With over 30 years of compressed air purification experience behind Donaldson, the company has developed an extensive line of air filtration products with a range of efficiencies and optional features to cost-effectively meet any application need. Prefilters and afterfilters can be custom-configured to suit the requirements of any specific application.
