FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DONALDSON SELECT™ FUEL FILTRATION WITH SYNTEQ XP™ MEDIA OFFERS SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENT IN FUEL FILTER PERFORMANCE AND ENGINE PROTECTION
MINNEAPOLIS, MN – March 15, 2011 – Donaldson Company, (NYSE:DCI), a leading, worldwide manufacturer of filtration systems and parts, offers original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) a customized approach to fuel filtration using Donaldson Synteq XP™ media technology and Donaldson SELECT™ fuel, an improved low-flow fuel filtration system with modular features.

|
Synteq XP™ Media Technology
Donaldson Synteq XP media technology takes fuel filtration performance to a whole new level. This revolutionary media uses an advanced synthetic, multi-layer structure to provide enhanced engine and system component protection.
|
"Diesel fuels are changing – and we've developed our Synteq XP media to address the challenges of this evolving landscape," says Rich Lewis, General Manager of Liquid Filtration at Donaldson Company. "Diesel fuels have gone through a significant transformation over the past decade. With the transition to Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) and the increased use of bio-diesels, today's fuels generally contain more contaminants, are less stable and inhibit water removal. Synteq XP media represents a leap forward in technology that responds to today's fuel filtration challenges."
With its enhanced capability, Synteq XP filter media, gives Donaldson OE Customers the flexibility to meet a wide range of efficiency and capacity requirements. OEMs can select which benefit is most desired for their specific application:
- Higher efficiency for better engine protection, or
- Extended filter life (up to 2 to 3 times that of traditional filter media)

|
SELECT™ Fuel Filtration Technology
Donaldson SELECT fuel filtration allows OEMs to create a custom filter assembly from a collection of qualified and ready-to-use components. This modular packaging system can be configured with advanced Synteq XP media technology – or with other Donaldson media offerings, to satisfy a variety of performance targets.
SELECT fuel uses a ground-breaking, versatile filter to head mounting interface that can accommodate either a permanent non-metal housing with cartridge filter or a traditional spin-on. This modular head design is available with pumping, heating and sensor options.
|
SELECT fuel also provides flexible water management solutions. A transparent water collection bowl is available as an add-on component or can be integrated into the system as the filter housing. Both options allow for quick visual inspection of water presence in the filter and are compatible with reliable Donaldson Twist&Drain™ valves.
SELECT fuel filtration delivers a highly flexible product offering which, when coupled with Donaldson's proven media technologies such as Synteq XP, provide cost effective custom fuel filtration systems that meets a variety of demanding OEM requirements.
