FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DONALDSON PRESENTS TECHNICAL PAPER ON IMPROVING FILTRATION IN HARSH CONDITIONS AT THE 52ND NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON FLUID POWER
MINNEAPOLIS, MN – March 16, 2011 – Donaldson Company (NYSE:DCI), a worldwide manufacturer of filtration solutions and products, is pleased to announce participation in the 52nd National Conference on Fluid Power (NCFP) being held in conjunction with the 2011 International Exposition for Power Transmission (IFPE) Show, March 22-26, 2011 in Las Vegas.

|
William M. Needelman, Chief Science Advisor at Donaldson, will present a technical paper on "Reducing Cost of Operation in Harsh Conditions with New Generation Filters" on Wednesday, March 23, in the South Building, Level 2, Room S225 from 2:15 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. The presentation will provide an overview of how an innovative new generation of liquid filter media is improving filtration in challenging environments created by today's high viscosity gear oils, high flow rates, and cold starts.
|
Needeman will demonstrate how the new generation liquid filter media combines glass microfibers with reinforcing bi-component binder fibers, rather than chemical resin adhesives, producing a less restrictive porous structure. The result is high efficiency filtration with low ∆P, less cold-start bypassing, and longer life.
After summarizing the technology behind the recently released new generation filters, Needelman will describe how they can be employed to solve real-world contamination problems, using several case-study application examples. Needelman co-authored this abstract with Martin A. Barris, Director of Engineering, and Gregory L. LaVallee, Principal Engineer, both at Donaldson.
More information on this conference can be found at: www.ifpe.com/Education/General/FluidPower/.
In conjunction with participation at IFPE and NCFP, Donaldson will showcase a host of hydraulic and engine air intake filtration technologies at the co-located 2011 CONEXPO-CON/AGG and IFPE Shows in Booth #16029, South Hall (Second Floor) at the Las Vegas Convention Center (www.conexpoconagg.com).
