DONALDSON TO PRESENT DIESEL EXHAUST EMISSIONS CONTROL SYSTEM INTEGRATION AND DURABILITY PAPER AT SAE INTERNATIONAL
MINNEAPOLIS, MN – April 16, 2009 – Donaldson Company (NYSE:DCI), a leading, worldwide manufacturer of filtration systems and parts, is pleased to announce participation in the SAE World Congress being held from April 20-23, 2009, Cobo Center, Detroit, Michigan, USA. Karthik Viswanathan, Donaldson Co., Lead Chemical Engineer, will be presenting SAE Technical Paper 2009-01-0633, SCR Performance Optimization through Advancements in Aftertreatment Packaging. The paper will present the advanced work by the Donaldson Co. Corporate Technology Research and Emissions Development teams to optimize SCR emissions aftertreatment packaging solutions and prevent problems related to urea deposits, pre-mature catalyst plugging and back pressure issues.
The paper has been co-authored by members of the Donaldson Co. Emissions Development & Corporate Technology Research teams consisting of Paul Way, Karthik Viswanathan, Phebe Preethi, Andrew Gilb, Nathan Zambon and Jared Blaisdell. "This opportunity to participate in the SAE World Congress began back in August 2008," said Paul Way, Donaldson Co. Emissions Development Engineering Manager. "Donaldson Co. presented a paper on optimizing NOx reduction performance from Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) Systems during the 2008 Diesel Engine-Efficiency and Emissions Research (DEER) Conference. Later, in October 2008, we participated in an industry panel as experts on urea deposit formation in SCR systems during the Powertrains, Fuels and Lubricants meeting through SAE. The work being presented during April's SAE World Congress represents a culmination of the groups' collective work and specifically addresses how to eliminate urea deposits and optimize SCR emissions aftertreatment control systems."
