Donaldson Company is a worldwide manufacturer of expanded ePTFE membranes called Tetratex®, and sub-micron polymeric nanofiber materials that we market under the names Ultra-Web® and Spider-Web®.

Tetratex® membranes are fabricated in a variety of proprietary pore structures, widths, thickness and lengths, providing flexibility to meet your needs. The diversity of our products enables us to solve tough problems in a variety of markets including, Industrial Filtration, Pharmaceutical, Microfiltration, Fuel Cell, Venting and Medical.

Donaldson nanofibers are created from a proprietary electrospinning process that results in fiber diameters less than 0.5 microns (less than 500 nanometers). The typical fiber diameter is 200 to 500 times smaller than a human hair. While we’ve used nanofibers to provide filtration solutions for a quarter of a century, we are now seeking other applications for this nano technology.

Nanofibers
Donaldson develops nanofiber products and nanofiber filter media for applications where sub-micron fiber diameters, high filtration efficiency, high surface area and other unique material properties are useful. For many years, Donaldson has used its proprietary nanofiber filter media in Ultra-Web® filters for dust collection, Spider-Web® filters for gas turbine air filtration, and Donaldson EnduranceTM air filters for heavy-duty engines.

Tetratex® Tetratex®
Tetratex® ePTFE membrane has a unique microstructure. It comprises of millions of small randomly connected fibrils that render an effective pore size many times smaller than can be seen by the naked eye. The result: Tetratex media collects very fine particles while allowing air to freely permeate the membrane.
Tetratex is a surface filtration ePTFE membrane, laminated to woven needlefelt substrates. It acts as a primary dust cake requiring no pre-coat before operation. By limiting fine particle penetration, Tetratex preserves the filter substrate integrity, while maintaining optimum airflow at a reduced pressure drop.
Tetratex high performance ePTFE membrane delivers high particulate capture rates and excellent dust cake release.
Tetratex® High Efficiency Tetratex® High Efficiency
Tetratex® High Efficiency ePTFE membrane delivers exceptional particulate capture rates and excellent dust cake release providing outstanding durability.
Tetratex® Extreme
Tetratex® EXTREME, the next generation of Tetratex, is a surface filtration ePTFE membrane, laminated onto a variety of substrates for dust collector applications, providing the flexibility to meet your needs. It acts as a primary dust cake.
By limiting fine particulate penetration, Tetratex EXTREME can be used in a variety of applications that require a high airflow; delivering high capture rates, lower constant operating pressure drop resulting in extended filter bag life and energy savings.
A high value ePTFE membrane with excellent dust cake release properties.
Tetratex EXTREME is manufactured from PTFE Fluoropolymer resin. It is chemically inert material that virtually eliminates concerns regarding fiber contamination. Tetratex EXTREME membrane is thermally stable up to +550°F.
Tetratex EXTREME filter media is sold in roll form to qualified filter bag and cartridge manufacturers.
• Next generation of Tetratex ePTFE membrane
• Increased airflow capability
• Excellent particulate capture rates and superior dust cakes release
• Near-zero particulate emissions meeting required regulatory standards
• Lower constant operating pressure drop
• Extended filter bag life through less frequent cleaning
• Increased production through less downtime and more through put
• Increased profitability through greater dust collector efficiency and lower energy costs
