LaFarge upgraded the dust control system in the company’s Mobile, Alabama cement storage warehouse using a series of interconnected Donaldson Torit Dalamatic® Insertable Dust Collectors throughout the facility to improve safety for employees, improve redundancy in the system and reduce maintenance costs. FLSmidth, contracted by LaFarge to deliver the upgraded dock facility, selected Donaldson Torit for the dust collection upgrade.
The Dalamatic Insertable Dust Collector is a stand alone dust collector that can be ducted to many different applications.

Since the LaFarge system was installed in 2003, the front end loaders working to unload ships have experienced increased visibility due to increased air flow. Additionally, the company has realized an additional 15 percent decrease in power costs for the collectors due to lower pressure drop across the filters.
