MINNEAPOLIS, MN – October 15– A new technical article entitled “Hexavalent Chromium: What You Need To Know,” authored by Donaldson Company, Inc., has been released for industrial manufacturers involved in welding, stainless steel fabrication, and thermal spray coatings.
Controlling and capturing hexavalent chromium has become an issue for manufacturers because OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration in the U.S.A.) has re-defined the Permissible Exposure Level (PEL) for hexavalent chromium to one tenth of the previous PEL.
Authored by Jeff Abelson, Technical Services Manager for the company’s Donaldson Torit brand of dust, fume, and mist collection and filtration systems, the new white paper addresses questions most manufacturers face on how to meet the new OSHA requirements, including
- How are workers exposed to hexavalent chromium?
- What are employer responsibilities?
- How can hexavalent chromium be captured & controlled?
