MINNEAPOLIS, MN – December 15– Donaldson Torit has published a new white paper comparing its Ultra-Web advanced nanofiber filter media to ordinary nanofibers, specifically on their durability in heat and humidity.
The white paper provides test data, technical discussion, and photos from Donaldso's scanning electron microscope from the recent tests that compared the two filter media.
The tests show that ordinary nanofiber filters are measurably less effective than Ultra-Web filters: the tests conducted on the most recent introduction to the nanofiber filter field reveal high susceptibility to moderate heat and humidity. In typical ambient conditions, tests showed that ordinary nanofibers degrade — essentially melt away — and dramatically decrease the performance and life of the cartridge filter. The ordinary nanofibers began disintegrating quickly in rising temperatures and humidity levels, while the Ultra-Web fiber remained robust.
Developed by Donaldson 25 years ago, Ultra-Web for industrial air filtration was the first commercial application using nanofiber electrospinning technology
