Donaldson Company, Inc. has made a significant investment to improve and enhance our ability to satisfy our customers through warehouse distribution. We are very excited and keenly interested in starting our new WMS successfully. A large portion of this success is dependent upon our supply partners to comply with the previous requests in May and now with the details enclosed. Please note that failure to comply with these requests will result in a Non-Conformance Report being issued to our suppliers. Repeated failure to comply with the labeling and packing requirements may require Donaldson to recover the associated "non-value added" costs.
Compliance is mandatory for all goods received on or after Jan 07, 2008. We appreciate your cooperation and willingness to comply with our labeling and packaging requirements.
How to get started
Follow these steps to identify the packaging and labeling information you will need to include with all future shipments to Donaldson Company, Inc:
- If your Donaldson part number follows the format PXXXXXX-YYY-ZZZ, proceed to step 2. If your Donaldson part number does not follow this format, click here for your labeling requirements.
- Identify your Donaldson Pack Code(s).
Each Pack Code will have a unique set of carton, pallet and labeling requirements.
Your pack code is part of your Donaldson part number. For example, in part number P123456-123-456:
i. P123456 is the base part number
ii. 123 is the paint code
iii. 456 is the pack code
- Use the Pack Code Manual to determine the carton, pallet and labeling requirements for each of your Donaldson pack codes. This instructs you how to properly package and label your Donaldson product for shipment.
a. Reference How to use the Donaldson Pack Code Manual link for detailed instructions on finding your packaging requirements.
b. If your pack code description lists a format label number under “Labeling Requirements”, click on that number in the Format / Base Label Numbers list below. The format label is an example of what information is required on the label. To understand what the base decorative label looks like, click on the link to your specific format label number and locate the base label number in the lower left quadrant of the format label document. You will see a number followed by text that reads base label. Find the base label number in the Format / Base Label Numbers list below.
