Fuel filtration plays a key role in protecting modern high-pressure common rail (HPCR) fuel injectors. When you’re operating at pressures up to 2,000–3,100 bar / 30,000–45,000 psi, even the tiniest hard particulate or water contamination can cause serious damage to a system. To meet stringent EPA, Tier 4 Final, and Euro 5/6 emissions regulations, modern engines need high-performance filtration to function in the most severe operating conditions. Fuel must be cleaner and drier than ever before to ensure that highly engineered fuel-system pumps and injectors can maintain performance.
Donaldson SELECT™ fuel filtration technology provides the latest filtration advancements for use in OEM applications. Donaldson-exclusive media technologies bring measurable value to OEMs and their customers by providing industry-leading protection under real-world operating conditions.
Today's fuel systems require clean fuel under the most severe operating conditions. Donaldson SELECT is built specifically to help OEMs overcome these challenges.
Our various head configurations can be paired with bowl and cartridge (permanent bowls with disposable filter cartridges) or metal spin-on filters. We offer so many versions of every component that it might seem like they’re custom built.
Our modular approach to components means that we can develop a filtration system perfect for nearly any application. This means that we can also extend that flexibility to meet regional environmental and regulatory needs. For countries or regions where recycling is the preferred approach, Donaldson offers metal spin-on options. In areas where incineration is preferred, we can provide bowl/cartridge options with a metal-free cartridge that can be properly disposed of.
For applications requiring water removal, Donaldson offers a range of components for efficient water management. Select fuel-filter water separators can be specified with either fully transparent housings or water collection bowls, offering quick visual water inspection. Donaldson Twist&Drain™ valves with built in water-in-fuel (WIF) sensors are also available for easy water management.
SELECT filter assembly options and technologies are available in 80 mm, 93 mm and 108 mm diameters to meet flow rate needs for both primary and secondary fuel filtration applications. These options are modular and scalable to satisfy various engine sizes and application requirements.
