Donaldson Expands Food & Beverage Lab Capabilities

HAAN, GERMANY (8 July 2025) — Donaldson has expanded the capabilities of its Food & Beverage Laboratory in Haan, Germany, with new tools to better support customers in the industry. The updates include a fully automated Clean-In-Place (CIP) Test Bench and in-house Bacterial Retention Testing, both aimed at speeding up validation and improving accuracy in simulating real processing conditions.

"With these enhanced lab capabilities, we’re able to move faster and more precisely in replicating how our filters perform in actual customer processes. We’re focused on helping our customers maintain product integrity and meet strict industry standards without added complexity or delays."

Veli Kalayci, General Manager of Global Food and Beverage, Donaldson Company

The automated CIP Test Bench lets Donaldson simulate customer cleaning cycles quickly and reliably – reducing the time it takes to validate filters during development. In parallel, the lab now runs Bacterial Retention Testing in-house, following ASTM F838-20 standards. This approach enables more efficient testing against real-world microbial challenges and supports both standard and highly specific application needs.

Together, these investments deepen Donaldson’s technical offering and reinforce its focus on practical, customer-oriented innovation in food and beverage filtration. Donaldson encourages customers to share their CIP protocols to enable customized, application-specific validation testing.
