Donaldson Blue® coolant filters are available in two different packaging options – additive replenishment technology or non-chemical (blank). They are direct replacements for standard coolant filters.

Donaldson Blue® Coolant Filters with Additive Replenishment Technology

Donaldson Blue coolant filters with Additive Replenishment Technology maintain cooling system balance through a controlled release of additives over a period of time to maintain proper additive levels. These premium coolant filters use Synteq™ media to remove fine contaminants from sensitive coolant systems. Donaldson Blue filters with additive replenishment technology will extend coolant maintenance intervals up to once a year or 195,000 km / 150,000 mi.

Non-Chemical Donaldson Blue® Coolant Filters

Non-chemical Donaldson Blue filters will go the distance of your coolant. This allows you to add liquid additives to your cooling systems as needed.


  • Organic acid coolant systems – Organic acid technology (OAT)
  • Hybrid coolant systems – blend of traditional and organic coolant 


  • Will last the distance of the system's coolant


  • Allows the user to add liquid additives to their cooling systems as needed

  1. Remove radiator cap; use caution if hot or under pressure.

  2. Unscrew and remove old filter and gasket.
    Properly dispose of the used filter according to local regulations.

  3. Wipe filter head with clean cloth.

  4. Apply a thin film of clean motor oil to the gasket.

  5. Align threads and spin on filter until gasket contact.

  6. Follow icons on filter to tighten.

  7. Pour coolant mix into overflow.

  8. Start engine and check for leaks.

  9. Test coolant according to type.
