Fuel Filter 118mm Assemblies

Our 118mm / 4.65" family of spin-on fuel assemblies features one head option and a range of filter lengths with various efficiency ratings to protect your fuel system and assist with water separation. Choose the media type and configuration that’s best for your application. Whether you are looking for high-efficiency particulate removal or fuel and water separation, the options are available for your needs.

For water maintenance flexibility, Donaldson fuel filter water separators have a connection that can accommodate multiple drain valve types, as well as a water collection bowl. The clear water collection bowl (80 mL / 2.7 oz capacity) is a separate component that can be added on for easy, visual water inspection and maintenance. All fuel filter water separators ship with a standard Twist&Drain™ valve. A variety of other Twist&Drain valves types are available so you can configure the exact system needed.

Spin-On Filters

1. Unscrew and remove the old filter and gasket
   Properly dispose of the used filter according to local regulations
   
   
2. Wipe the filter head with a clean cloth
   
   
3. DO NOT pre-fill with fuel unless otherwise specified
   
   
4. Apply a thin film of clean motor oil to the gasket
   
   
5. Align threads; spin filter on until gasket contact
   
   
6. Follow icons on filter to tighten to the appropriate amount
   
   
7. Start engine and check for leaks

Spin-on Fuel Filter Water Separator (FFWS)

1. Disconnect water-in-fuel (WIF) sensor if present – reconnect after servicing
   
   
2. Unscrew and remove the old filter and gasket
   Properly dispose of the used filter according to local regulations
   
   
3. Wipe filter head with a clean cloth
   
   
4. Fill with fuel on the dirty side of the filter – per engine manufacturer recommendations
   
   
5. Apply a thin film of clean motor oil to the gasket
   
   
6. Align threads; spin filter on until gasket contact
   
   
7. Follow icons on filter to tighten to the appropriate amount
   
   
8. Replace water collection bowl gasket if applicable
   
   
9. Prime fuel system per manufacturer instructions
   
   
10. Start engine and check for leaks
    
    
11. Drain water daily
