Donaldson has been at the forefront of emission-control system innovation for heavy-duty diesel equipment for more than 30 years. We pioneered one of the first off-road selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems in 2008, and our track record of robustness and reliability continues today with the development of advanced solutions that offer compact packaging and component modularity.
Emission-control systems are critical components of nearly all modern diesel-powered equipment, and, due to increasingly stringent emissions regulations, improvements continue to be made in emissions reduction. Emissions control started in the 1990s with diesel particulate filters (DPF) reducing particulate matter (PM) and expanded to include oxides of nitrogen (NOx) reduction beginning in the early 2000s. In the future, when requirements for even further NOx reduction and management of greenhouse gases (GHG) are expected, Donaldson will support OEMs with higher efficiency SCR mixing systems and novel thermal solutions.
