We offer a broad portfolio of hydraulic oil filtration components that can be combined to meet the unique needs of many applications. These include standard components with or without customized heads, as well as totally custom filtration components to create fully integrated hydraulic filtration systems.
Standard Components Configured to System Requirements
Our large hydraulic filtration range includes standard heads/assemblies and filters for multiple performance grades. Choosing these standardized components can be a fast and economical approach to achieving the desired system performance, with relatively low acquisition cost. This approach is often used in lower equipment volume applications.
Customized Heads with Standard Filtration Components
Donaldson OEM projects often start with proven filtration and reservoir components that are then combined with unique head/assembly configurations. This combination allows streamlined and optimized port locations, flow paths, and other adaptations that meet the requirements of each OE application. Thanks to our engineering design capabilities and manufacturing know-how, Donaldson engineers can work with OEM teams to develop unique heads and system designs that will help you optimize performance and acquisition costs.
The customization process begins with standard products that are then tailored to specific applications – helping OEMs solve technical challenges and optimize filtration. This streamlined integration process can also help reduce the number of system components because we can often incorporate key system functions within customized heads (for example manifolds, valves and even case drains). This can allow OEMs to reduce the number of components included in a system (and related hoses to those components), again, helping to reduce overall acquisition costs.
Fully Customized Applications
Many OEMs come to Donaldson with very particular specifications. This might be achieving specific performance requirements, responding to physical adaptations made to the machine, dealing with limited space claims, providing ease of maintenance or assembly, or other unique challenges.
Donaldson engineering teams can work with OEMs to develop entirely customized design solutions. All of the engineering workloads (developing and presenting solutions to OEMs) can be handled at Donaldson internally including system/component design, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations, 3D prototypes, test and validation, functional prototypes, on-site analysis, and more. From there we have the ability to manufacture, produce and deliver these custom solutions.
