When a data point crosses the pre-set threshold, an alert is sent to the designated users of the application.
The technology enhances condition-based and preventative maintenance schedules by leveraging near real-time equipment status, access to historical trend data and critical Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) compliance data for each connected filtration solution.

Industrial Air Filtration
Donaldson Smart Collectors feature iCue Connected Technology. The system tracks your dust, fume, or mist collector’s performance, providing real-time data and analytics to help you maximize uptime, increase maintenance efficiency, and manage your operation’s critical compliance data.
Integrated directly into the Smart Collector’s control panel – or embedded in the Contura Pulse Controller on select models – the iCue Connected Technology utilizes cloud-based analytics to track system performance. Multiple data points on the system are monitored, and alerts are sent when parameters are breached. The technology helps identify potential issues so they can be addressed before they create the need for extensive collector downtime.
Smart Collectors utilize a series of sensors to monitor critical performance metrics during use to provide operators and process owners with updates and actionable insights:
- Differential Pressure. Measures differential pressure (dP) and provides alerts when your filters are approaching the end of their usable life.
- Airflow. Monitors relative airflow, air volume, and velocity.
- Compressed Air Pressure. Monitors the compressed air pressure to ensure filters are being pulse cleaned properly.
- Gateway Temperature. Tracks temperature inside the gateway device on the collector.
- Pulse Valve Health. Monitors pulse valve functionality and pulsing frequency on collectors.
- Maintenance Hours of Service. Counts the hours of service, and alerts users when it’s time to perform scheduled maintenance.
- Particulate Trend. Monitors particulate trends in emissions and provides alerts when operational setpoints are exceeded.
- Point Level (Hopper Plug). Triggers an alert when the paddle can no longer rotate, which may indicate an obstruction.
- Internal Temperature and Humidity*. Detects temperature and humidity from a single probe mounted inside the collector or a duct.
- Secondary Differential Pressure*. Measures dP across any secondary filter.
- Zero Speed / Rotary Air Lock*. Detects when the rotary valve has stopped turning while the dust collector is running.
- Bin / Drum Level*. Alerts users when their dust collector bins are nearly full.
- Fan Energy & Power*. Monitors power and energy use of the fan.

Industrial Gases
Donaldson heat regenerated desiccant dryers feature iCue Connected Technology. Designed for processes that require large volumes of compressed air with very low pressure dewpoints down to -70°C/ -94°F, the dryers combine energy-efficient adsorption capabilities and real-time system monitoring to deliver optimal performance tailored to your specific application, climate, and conditions.

- Pressure Dewpoint. Triggers an alert if dewpoint is not reached.
- Adsorber/Compressed Air Pressure. Triggers an alert if pressure is not in line with process requirements.
- Heater Temperature. Triggers an alert if heater temperature exceeds defined limit.
- Heating Inlet/Outlet Temperature. Triggers an alert if temperature is not in line with process requirements.
- Cooling Inlet/Outlet Temperature. Triggers an alert if temperature is not in line with process requirements.
- Hours of Service. Tracks total system run-time and service intervals.
- Process Alerts. Combined alert for several process parameters such as blower function or heating/cooling time.
- Compressed Air Flow*. Measures compressed air flow rate.
- Compressed Air Temperature*. Measures compressed air inlet temperature.
- Differential Pressure*. Measures differential pressure across dryer unit and installed pre- and afterfilters.

Industrial Hydraulics
Donaldson Hy-Pro™ Vac-U-Dry (VUD) vacuum dehydrators feature iCue Connected Technology. Engineered to provide ultra efficient water and particulate removal from hydraulic and high viscosity lubricating oils, the VUD combines industry-leading fluid filtration and real-time system monitoring to deliver optimal performance.
Integrated directly into the VUD’s control panel, the iCue Connected Technology utilizes cloud-based analytics to track system performance. Key parameters on the system are monitored, and alerts are sent when pre-set thresholds are exceeded. The technology helps identify potential issues so they can be addressed before they create the need for extensive downtime.
The VUD utilizes a series of sensors to monitor critical performance metrics during use to provide operators and process owners with updates and actionable insights:
- Relative Humidity. Measures humidity levels in the oil to ensure moisture removal.
- Vacuum Pressure. Ensures vacuum pressure matches oil temperature.
- Fluid Temperature. Monitors oil temperature to ensure operational efficiency.
- Fluid Flow. Indicates if the unit is pumping oil to prevent heater operation without fluid.
- Post-Filter Differential Pressure. Signals when the filter element is full and needs replacement.
- Hours of Service. Tracks total system run-time and service intervals.
- High Oil/Foam Sensor. Detects oil levels and foam to identify aeration, overfilling, or contamination.
- Condensate Drain Switch. Tracks condensate chamber dumps.
- Particle Count Monitor*. Monitors dirt/particle count to ensure ISO cleanliness levels.
